Digital fabrication is a type of manufacturing process where the machinery is computer-controlled. At Studio Robazzo, we have three of the most well-known digital fabrication robots: a laser cutter, CNC, and 3D printer. Whether you need something designed from scratch, or have your file ready to go, we can help you with your digital fabrication needs.

Laser cutting

Laser cutting is a great way to showcase your business, whether you’re engraving signs or cutting parts for easy-to-assemble product displays. Our in-house laser cutter—which has a bed size of 400mm x 600mm, with feed-through in the wider direction—can cut soft materials (wood, plexiglass, leather, textiles, cardboard) up to 1/4” in thickness. It can also engrave those materials, as well as stone, brick, and concrete. Not sure about whether we can cut your material? Just ask!

CNC Milling

With what looks like a robotic arm moving with sharp precision, a CNC machine can cut, mill, or engrave many types of material with a computer-controlled spindle that operates at thousands of rotations per minute. It’s particularly useful for crafting signage, large-scale installations, and furniture production. Our CNC machine, located at our FabLab in Victoria’s LowTown, has a full 4’ x 8’ bed, and can cut through most materials.

3d Printing

3D printing is all the rage, and it’s easy to see why! This amazing technology allows just about any three-dimensional object to be printed from filament (we use PLA, made primarily from corn fibres). Our 3D printer has a working area of 12” x 12”, and can print objects as high as 24”.
