Mayfair has long been a fashion and lifestyle cornerstone in Victoria’s shopping scene, and with their recent mega expansion, the mall is feeling fresher than ever. One of the new spaces at Mayfair is called CONNECT, and features 6 local artisans selling their wares out of custom-designed parametric vendor booths.
The pods were designed using algorithms which were originally prototyped for the Otherworld Effigy earlier this year, using the intersection points between horizontal members to create an undulating overall shape.
Each vendor was given a catalogue of fixtures to choose from, each creating a unique list based on the products to be displayed. The fixtures themselves are modular and moveable; they can easily clip into any wall of the pod.
Each pod is also equipped with a hinged, lockable door on wheels to ensure the security of the artisanal products when the market is closed.
