We engraved the cedar flame with the winner's name and the date. A larger cedar flame is given to the winners to take home, while the main award remains at the TAPS office.

The award is composed of a plaster cast fist surrounded by cedar flames, which is engraved with the winners' names. The fist belongs to Valda, a long standing volunteer at TAPS.

Using dental alginate we created a negative of the fist that we could pour the liquid plaster in to. Once the plaster hardened, we peeled away the alginate to reveal the finished replica of the fist.
